OH MY G-g-OD are you working from the Michael Hampton figure drawing book?? If you are, you’ve clearly unlocked LCAD’s textbook secret or something LOL;;;
LOL YES I am!! That book is pretty good, I got it around 2 years ago but I never really got around to reading it until now. So I won’t have to buy it again for LCAD~~
100 ANATOMY SKETCHES // WEEK TWO
I didn’t really plan this week out that well, so I just resorted to trying to get through my anatomy textbook. Got pretty familiar with the back and torso muscles, but the arms/legs were much more complex.
10 important questions to ask yourself. Read them constantly as a checklist to make sure your are heading in the right direction and using your artistic potential.
1. Does failure push you forward? How you deal with failure will determine how skillfull you will become.
2. What kinds of…
YAA KILLING IT
haha dude your skeletons are INSANE ;__; Those must’ve taken a ton of time/dedication
100 FACES // WEEK ONE
Trying out skmop’s 100 things-per-week exercise. Learned how to (kind of) pick out the most important parts of a face, and to try not to focus too much on drawing just one part.
I’m not satisfied yet though.
Random character design at my teacher’s place. First time he’s actually tried to teach anything concept art related, and it feels like he knows waaay more than he ever shows me…I could have pushed the values and made parts of her head darker (her eyes/background are overpowering), but ehhh
I think I’ll name her Molly.
Anonymous asked: When you paint digitally, do you use photoshop or Sai?? They are beautiful.
Thank you!
I use Photoshop, because when I started that seemed to be the standard (although Sai seems to be very popular also, especially in manga/comic art). I don’t know much about Sai.
and it’s so irrelevant it’s not even funny. Precious hours of my life has gone into that monster.
It’s like incubating an alien baby that will only wake up and destroy the starship after it’s born.
My starship is metaphorical to my life, and it is failing. nicki minaj would be sad.
Quick still life of my pencil bag. While I was drawing this, I realized just how nasty this thing is. Its original color is a lovely, light 10% cool grey. Now it’s covered in so many pen doodles and lines that it looks like a dirty 80% french grey. It would’ve been too time consuming to draw out all the horrible graffiti crap on that thing.
I drew the head and upper torso for this thing in a hotel down in L.A., and I couldn’t resist sketching out the rest of the body and doing a rough coloring over it. Just spent 2 or so hours of my life on this, despite having AP homework and projects… sacrifices had to be made.
The general idea behind this is the Tiger Lily character from Peter Pan. I’m doing a space version of the story, and almost every character is undergoing a ridiculous transformation. Tiger Lily is now an alien chieftain, but this sketch came out not looking “regal” enough, so this one can be a normal warrior or something.
